The 30-Day Steps Challenge

How To Change Your Life Within A Month Using The 30-Day Steps Challenge

Everyone knows how important exercise is when you want to lead a healthier life, but the biggest problem people always come up against is consistency.

If you can do something on a consistent basis it will eventually become a habit you don’t even have to think about, so that is why you should consider taking part in the 30-Day Steps Challenge.

Anyone who has the ability to walk can take part and it will start off easy in the beginning so you can’t fail.

It’s All About 10,000 Steps

The main aim of the 30-Day Steps Challenge is to get you walking at least 10,000 steps per day. That number wasn’t just plucked out of thin air and it’s actually the recommended steps experts claim is the key to good health.

As we mentioned before, you’ll not actually be walking more than 10.000 steps on the first day of the challenge, so don’t get scared before you get the chance to begin. By the end of the challenge you’ll be able to walk that amount of steps per day easily, but how will you know you’re reaching your goal?

The 30-Day Steps ChallengeUsing Your FitBit

If you tried to count every individual step as you were walking down the street you’d be overtaken by snails. Suffice to say, even though you want to hit 10,000 steps per day you don’t actually want to count them in your head.

That doesn’t mean you’re left with guessing how many steps you’ve taken because you can wear your FitBit. Let it do all the hard work for you and it will mean you just need to keep an eye on how good you’re doing throughout the day. If you’re about to reach a certain time and you’re not close to your target you’ll know to put in more effort.

Don’t Forget It’s Over 24hrs

Most people who’ve taken the challenge in the past have put themselves under too much pressure because they think they need to reach 10,000 steps before some mysterious time they’ve thought up inside their head. You have a full 24hrs to complete the number of steps each day, so don’t forget you move around at night too.

If you get up in the middle of the night you might take 100 steps to visit the toilet then the kitchen to grab yourself a drink of water. You can also increase the amount of steps you take each day if wake up earlier than usual and your new 24hr time period hasn’t started yet. This challenge is about improving your health, so don’t let it stress you out or it will become counterproductive.

Why Only Walking Anyway?

There are hundreds of exercises you could perform in order to increase your health, but the 30-Day Steps Challenge only focuses on walking because it’s the easiest way for anyone to start improving their life.

Luckily it does come with a huge amount of other benefits you’ll get to experience, such as:

Strengthening Your Heart – If you walk regularly you’ll lower your risk of suffering from heart disease and crippling strokes. It will also reduce the amount of bad cholesterol in your body, which will do wonders for your blood pressure.

Losing Weight Easily – You need to consume less calories than you burn to lose weight, but this can be offset by any exercise you do. Walking so many steps per day will help you burn a lot of calories, so you’ll be able to lose weight easily without starving yourself.

Builds Healthier Bones – They tell you to use resistance training to keep osteoporosis at bay, but walking is still considered a weight-bearing activity and it will help to strengthen your bones to keep you on your feet for as long as possible as you reach old age.

It Will Elevate Your Mood – When you’re outside your happiness levels will shoot through the roof, perhaps because of the extra vitamin D you’ll get from the sun. Your energy levels will also improve dramatically and you’ll finally walk around with a smile on your face.

There are hundreds of other positive benefits you’ll receive by walking around more often, but I’m sure you’ll agree the few we’ve talked about today are enough to motivate you to get started.

You’re Ready To Begin

You’re finally ready to begin, so I hope you’re looking forward to the results you’ll see after your 30-Day Steps Challenge is over. Remember to take one step at a time and everything will work out for the best.

You’ll be moving around more during this challenge, so make sure you’re eating enough food to keep your energy levels up until your cardiovascular fitness improves. You should also make sure you’re getting enough protein in your diet as it will prevent your muscles from breaking down.

There is nothing wrong with supplementing with protein shakes and you’ll find a lot of tasty recipes I’m sure you’ll enjoy. Try to drink two of them throughout the day and you won’t have any problems during your challenge.
